A GROW Traineeship provides people with ‘lived experience’ the opportunity to develop a broad range…
Neil is 36 years old and was referred to CLI with a view to finding new interests and activities to help fill the void that was left when he stopped drinking.
At the time Neil had just moved to the area and needed help finding a positive support network.
Neil recognises that when he feels low he struggles to motivate himself but having a mentor to help him set goals and targets helped him to take action to sign up for a gym membership, enroll on a college course and find employment.
With the support of his mentor Neil accessed a range of activities to help him build a positive social network in Tameside amongst people who don’t abuse alcohol and he now feels ready to move out of supported accommodation and is looking for his own tenancy.
