CLI Land 5 Ways to Wellbeing Grant

CLI are proud to announce a new project to boost our service user’s wellbeing. Launched on the back of a successful bid, the grant from Tameside Council’s five ways to wellbeing fund will support the growth of the “recovery community” In Tameside. This will enable people in recovery from substance abuse the chance to form positive social networks and support each other in rebuilding their lives. The activities funded through the grant will promote each of the 5 ways to wellbeing:

Connect: Our recovery groups, gym sessions, a walking group and a relaxation group are all helping to bring people who wish to make positive lifestyle changes together.

Be Active: The grant allows us to offer a range of group exercise activities which encourage people to be more active regardless of their starting point. From our walk and talk group to circuit training there is something for everyone.

Take Notice: The walk and talk encourages people to take more notice of their environment and the relaxation sessions encourage people to live in the moment. Keep Learning: CLI encourage people to keep learning by providing training to service users and potential volunteers. We will train the most dedicated and committed of our service users as “recovery champions”.

Give: By creating more volunteer roles for people in recovery we allow them the chance to give back to their local community.

We provide opportunities for people to volunteer their time to growing and expanding the recovery community. Director Matthew Kidd said “The Grants from the Learning and wellbeing fund are really helping to develop the recovery community in Tameside and offer people opportunities to really turn their lives around”.
