James

James is 42 years old and was referred to CLI with a view to finding new interests and activities to help fill the void that was left when he stopped using illicit substances.

At the time he was of no fixed abode, his mood was low and he was unsure about his plans for the future. Six months later he has his own private rented accommodation and has joined CLI’s service user group to take the first steps towards becoming a mentor himself.

James has been able to achieve this as a result of CLI supporting him to attend meetings with a supported housing provider, re-negotiating the amount he had to pay from past loans and rent arrears, engaging in activities such as circuit training and SMART recovery.
